  • Only minimal external protrusion. A contribution towards road safety since the risk of injury caused by dangerous, protruding fittings, is eliminated.
  • Hinge and seal all-in-one - along the entire length.
  • Absolute precision - when in the closed position the two aluminium profiles interlock together. They can only be dismantled when the door or tailgate is open. Forced entry can only be made by cutting the plastic profile, leaving behind visible evidence.
  • Virtually no wear.
  • Totally maintenance-free - has been in practical use for more than two decades, primarily in the bodywork and vehicle area, tried and tested.

The hinge takes a specially moulded plastic profile made from a special POLYURETHANE elastomer with permanent elasticity and high tear resistance. Opening angles of more than 180° or 270° are achieved depending on the profile design.

Installation is extremely simple since the TILA continuous hinge is supplied in the open position using spacers and with holes already pre-drilled, ready for installation.

Can be fitted to doors, tailgates, lids of all kind, as single element or as an add-on unit, in bodywork and vehicle construction, for boot and van fixings, sales vehicles and buses etc. For use wherever flaps, lids and doors are required.

Centaflex Hinge is a modern, one-piece, continuous hinge specifically designed to give a low profile and stylish look to your vehicle’s appearance. Centaflex takes full advantage of the latest advances in new materials and manufacturing technology, the membrane is a flexible resin comprising of a patented blend of polyester elastomers combining the high strength of engineering resins with excellent flexibility. The result is that the Centaflex hinge has an excellent flex-life at temperatures ranging from -40°C to 50°C (-40°F to 122°F).

Popular for trucks, service vehicles, toolboxes and canopies, Centaflex hinge offers water and dust protection and is a great alternative to a piano hinge. This hinge is commonly used in the manufacture of canopies; however, it is ideal for any application where you need a weatherproof hinge. It is supplied in 2m or 3m lengths and has a black finish.

Coextruded rigid PVC profiles are fused together with the molten membrane creating an extremely strong and resilient hinge. A 1m length fitted horizontally has an SWL of 100kg per 1 metre of horizontally fitted length.

Can you cut piano hinges to length?

Piano hinges are generally designed as long, continuous strips of metal. While it's possible to cut them to a shorter length, doing so may impact their structural integrity and proper functioning. Cutting a piano hinge could potentially disrupt the uniformity of its design, affecting its ability to provide consistent support along the entire length. If a shorter hinge is needed, we recommend purchasing a hinge of the appropriate length rather than altering an existing one.
